Alexis’ research interests are in the understanding of physical properties of solids governing their electrochemical properties, more precisely understanding how to control the redox properties, cationic or anionic, of transition metal oxides for their electrocatalytic properties for water splitting, CO2 reduction, Li-ion batteries and related devices.

At MIT, Alexis’ research deals with the electrochemical control of oxygen stoichiometry in transition metal oxides in order to tune their conduction properties, either ionic or electronic, as well as modify their physical properties.
